Below is a description of each committee within our church and the various aspects each committee is responsible for.

The Fellowship Committee plans and oversees all fellowship meals including “Meet and Greet” after worship, monthly luncheons and dinners, refreshments at our outdoor worship services, our annual fall picnic and hayride at the Scout Reservation and the annual picnic and pool party at Lake Park.

The Evangelism Committee is responsible for contacting visitors and helping new members become more involved.  They reach out into the community with Prayer Walks, decorating a float for the Canal Days Parade, and through advertising to invite new disciples to become a part of our ministry.  Last year they began a Dinners for Eight program of small groups eating in homes or restaurants to share in fellowship.  They also oversee our 358 members to be sure they continue to grow in their faith through regular participation in the work and worship of our church.

The Christian Education Committee is responsible for spiritual life and Bible studies for children, youth and adults, both on Sunday mornings and at other times including the week of Vacation Bible School, special discussions open to the public and for new member classes for adults and a mentoring program for youth.  The committee is resourced by our full time Director of Christian Education, Erin Jobes.

Church Committees

Mission includes all the ways our members are generous with helping those in need.  The Mission Committee oversees budget gifts to the Presbytery, Synod and General Assembly for their mission work of the Presbyterian Church (USA) nationally and around the world.  A Mission budget fuels regular projects like Habitat for Humanity, First Step Family Violence Intervention Services, an international student at Warren Wilson College, helping theological seminary students, a Navajo Presbyterian Church in Arizona and other opportunities as they come up throughout the year.  They promote our special offerings such as One Great Hour of Sharing each Lent to help with disaster assistance, hunger, and self-development of people.  Two roast beef dinners are held each year by volunteers and raise over $1000 for a local project such as the Alternative School or Higher Hopes Therapeutic Riding Center.

Because God gives each of us different gifts and talents - see Corinthians 12 - the Body of Christ equips the saints for ministry when talents are shared.  This committee is approved annually by the congregation and invites people to serve on our Boards of Trustees, Deacons and Elders and also eight committees.

Nominating Committee

The Worship Committee provides for our Sunday morning worship, celebration of our sacraments and through the Director of Music, our eight vocal and handbell musical groups.  New handmade quilted banners were added to our sanctuary this year.  Liturgists assist in worship each Sunday.  Services are held monthly at Windsorwood and at scheduled times at Coshocton Health and Rehab.  Special services are held throughout the year.  Some of those are: Ash Wednesday, All-Ohio State Fair Youth Choir reunion concert with 175 singers during worship, a Lenten Cantata, Maundy Thursday, Holy Humor Sunday, an annual Organ Concert, Youth Sunday worship by our youth group, youth musical in December and our Christmas Eve candlelight service.

Worship Committee

The Personnel Committee oversees our fourteen full and part time staff members and conducts annual reviews through the implementation of our Personnel Policy and Job Descriptions.
